Loose Watercolor Sunflowers
Welcome to class, Creative Friend!
I am absolutely thrilled to host you for Day 4 of the Summer Blooms Art Event!
What To Expect
We'll begin by discussing the supplies you'll need to complete the class, and chat about big-picture goals for our time together, which will be to lean into the messy magic of watercolor by implementing a form of loose or gestural style - a means of capturing the essence of the subject matter rather than attempting to pin down every detail. This creative liberation invites joy into the process and allows you to rely on your intuition as you begin to understand the principals of watercolor.
As we move forward I will also speak with you a bit about the fundamentals of composition, specifically the way in which you (the artist) bring interest into the painting by enhancing the variety of compositional elements: color, contrast proportion, movement, and balance.
We'll conclude our time by leaning into movement, adding stems, leaves and sweeping lines to serve as breath, flow and balance. Without further ado, let's dive in!
